Mary Catheryn Dearwester, 85, of Bellefontaine passed away Friday morning, February 13, 2015 at Mary Rutan Hospital. She was born in Union County, Ohio to the late William E. and Catheryn B. (Dunham) Lucas. Mary is also preceded in death by two daughters, a brother Albert L. Lucas, sisters: Beulah McColloch, Donna Bell Wilkins, Wilma Jean Robson, Emma Nell Stout and Shirley Lou Sargent; and two grandchildren.
Mary worked as a machine operator at Siemen’s / Bulldog for 32 years before retiring. She was a member of the Bellefontaine Church of the Brethren and a former member of the Bellefontaine First Church of God. Mary enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.
Mary is survived by her husband James B. Dearwester, whom she married July 7, 1952 in Portland, Indiana. She is also survived by son Charles David (Diane) LeVan of Silver Springs, Maryland; step-son Ronald Bruce Dearwester of Zanesfield; step-daughters Debra Jean (Lowell) Bowers of Lakeview and Denise Joan (Richard) Hess of Lillian, Alabama; ten grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild; a brother William E. Lucas of Pensacola, Florida; sisters: JoAnn (Harold) Lyles of Belle Center, Florence Marie (Gene) Curtis of Toledo, Sharon Louise (Ronald) Deardorff of Rushsylvania and Kay (Jack) Taylor of Bellefontaine.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in North Greenfield Cemetery.
The staff of Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine assisted the family with arrangements.
