Mary Agnes Elshoff Dodge, 85, of West Liberty, Ohio, and formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008, at The Laurels of Worthington, in Worthington, Ohio. She was born in Logan County September 21, 1922, a daughter of the late Claude and Inez Cordrey Tanger.
On August 3, 1947, she married Orlando Carl Elshoff and he passed away March 19, 1981. She married William R. Dodge June 29, 1985, and he passed away October 27, 1998. She also was preceded in death by brothers, Marion, Charles and William Tanger. Survivors include son, Dale Ralph (Sharon) Elshoff of Powell, Ohio; stepsons, William Robert (Joanna) Dodge of Bellefontaine and James Dodge of Cincinnati, Ohio; stepdaughters, Phyllis (Robert) DePue of Casa Grande, Arizona, and Diane (Jerry) Smith of Nampa, Idaho; and grandchildren, Denise and Gregory Elshoff.
A 1940 graduate of DeGraff High School, she graduated from The Ohio State University in 1944 and taught school at Belle Center and Rushsylvania. She also worked as a home economist for DP&L for 14 years.
She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine, the Logan County Agrarian Club, the Women’s Association Rebecca Circle and the Federated Women’s Club of Bellefontaine.
Rev. Rob Fulton will conduct the funeral service at 2 P.M. Sunday, September 14, 2008, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. Saturday afternoon. Burial is in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
