Mary Oakley Dye

Mary M. Oakley Dye, 84, of Sidney, Ohio, passed away at 12:15 P.M. Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Fair Haven Shelby County Home in Sidney. She was born in Marion County Ohio February 11, 1928, to the late Roy and Ollie Wheeler Simpkins.

On October 21, 1947, she married Willard Wilson Oakley and he preceded her in death December 3, 1983. She later married Robert Dye, and he preceded her in death January 30, 2010. She was also preceded in death by a son Dean Oakley; a step-daughter, Brenda Dye; a sister, Pat Brown, and two brothers, Leonard and Don.

She is survived three daughters, Dawon (Tom) Harford of Lakeview, Ohio, Dinah (Stephen) Sanders of DeGraff, Ohio and Denise Steed of Sidney; three sons, Douglas (Marilyn) Oakley of Jackson Center, Ohio, Dennis (Michelle) Oakley of Lakeview and Dan Oakley of Wapakoneta, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Jane Oakley of Santa Fe, Ohio; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four step- grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mary retired as a nurse’s aide from Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was a member of Grace Chapel Church in Santa Fe, Ohio.

Pastor Scott Anderson will conduct the funeral service at 1:00 P.M Monday, February 4, 2013, at the Myron L. Van Horn Chapel of the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview, Ohio. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the funeral on Monday. Interment will be at the Plum Cemetery in Lewistown, Ohio.

The funeral arrangements were handled by the staff of the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview.
