Mary Elizabeth Shawver Foulk, 83, of Bellefontaine passed away Sunday, December 25, 2016 at the Thomas P. Perciak Family Residential Hospice of Southwest General, Strongsville, Ohio.
Mary was born in Bellefontaine on February 17, 1933 to the late Theodore and Ethlyn (Rowe) Spurlock. She was also preceded in death by her step-father Joseph Donahue, her first husband Robert Shawver whom she married in 1952 died in 1968; her second husband Charles J. Foulk whom she married in 1972 passed away in 2001; daughter Beverly Ann Smith; Mary’s twin sister Margaret Blackwell and eldest sister Genevieve Patrick.
Mary is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Steven A. and Mary Shawver of Strongsville; a son-in-law Frank Smith of Bellefontaine; grandchildren: Tricia (Jerry) Sharp of Brunswick, Ohio, Gayle (Kevin) Hughes of Austin, Texas, Josiah (Johanna) Smith of Sterling, Virginia and Emily Smith of Westerville; ten great-grandchildren; Mary’s step-children: Judy (Doug) Bowen of Kenton, Michael (Diana) Foulk of Bellefontaine, Kenneth (Teresa) Foulk of Bellefontaine and Kevin (Tanya) Foulk of Prospect, Ohio; several step-grandchildren; nieces Vicki Maxson and Cynthia Moore, Carolyn Trout, Joanne Victor, Julia Saylor and Brenda Mosey and a nephew Rob Patrick.
Mary was a lifelong member of the First Christian Church in Bellefontaine where she was an Elder Emeritus and a Stephen Minister. She worked many years at Mary Rutan Hospital and in several medical offices in her later years. After retiring, Mary returned to Mary Rutan Hospital as a volunteer for ten years. Mary loved her family and her many friends.
Friends may call at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, on Thursday, December 29, 2016 from 5:30-7:30pm followed by a funeral service at 7:30pm officiated by Pastor F. Michael Valentine. Burial will be at a later date in Fairview Cemetery, West Liberty.
