Mary Elizabeth Gooding Lambert, 85, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Saturday morning, September 14, 2013, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born in Providence, Rhode Island April 12, 1928, to the late John F. and Mary B. (Bramah) Quinn.
Mary married her first husband K.E. “Gene” Gooding September 1, 1945, in Providence, Rhode Island and he preceded her in death June 10, 1970. She then married Charles E. Burns June 16, 1972, in Bellefontaine and he passed away October 8, 1981. On April 22, 1988, she married Luther Luke Lambert in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death July 2, 2006. Mary was also preceded in death by four brothers John, Raymond, Tony and Robert Quinn.
Mary is survived by her children Ronald (Linda) Gooding of Lakeview, Ohio, Gene (Linda) Gooding of Vermillion, Ohio, Gregg (Cindy) Gooding of Jackson Center, Ohio and Jill M. (Kody) Newland of Phoenix, Arizona; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; a brother, James Quinn of Cranston, Rhode Island and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary worked for Bellefontaine Federal Savings and Loan, the Logan County Treasurer’s office and retired after working at the Northeastern Elementary School in Bellefontaine. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Eagles, VFW, Moose, Ladies Elks and she was also a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2013, from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Fr. Patrick Sheridan will celebrate a funeral mass Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at 10 A.M. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Bellefontaine. Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
