Mary Nelson

Mary G. Nelson, 92, of Urbana, Ohio, and formerly of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 in the Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana. She was born January 12, 1918, the daughter of the late Pearl F. and Crystal F. (Curtis) Groves.

On October 3, 1945, she married Charles Edwin Nelson in Urbana, and he preceded her in death August 23, 1999. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Groves.

She is survived by her son, Rick (Becky) Nelson of West Liberty; her grandchildren, Beth A. Nelson of West Carrolton, Ohio, Lori D. (Tony) Leggs of Huber Heights, Ohio, and Mark E. Nelson West Liberty; great grandchildren, Chavon, Charles, Ottilia, and Katherine Leggs.

She attended the Urbana Church of Christ in Christian Union and belonged to the Monday Afternoon Club and the Order of the Eastern Star Urbana Chapter # 530.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty with Pastor David Murray and Rev. Richard Johnson officiating. Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 27, 2010, from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty.
