Mary Petty

Mary E. Petty, 78, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at 11:55 P.M. at Heartland of Bellefontaine. She was born in Springfield, Ohio November 4, 1932, a daughter of the late Clay and Eleanor (McLaughlin) Carr.

On December 28, 1951, she married Amon L. Petty in Richmond, Indiana and he preceded her in death December 6, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John P. Carr.

Mary was a 1950 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, a charter member of Kings Daughters Bona Fada Circle, and member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Mary is survived by sons: Mark Amon Petty of Bellefontaine, Timothy Lee (Susan) Petty of Beavercreek, Ohio, Robin Michael Petty of Bellefontaine, Douglas Clay Petty of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, and Christopher Floyd (Barbara) Petty of Sidney, Ohio; 9 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bellefontaine, celebrated by Rev. Patrick Sheridan at 10:00 A.M. Calling hours will be held at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine Friday, October 21, 2011, from 5 to 8 P.M. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
