Mary Jane Rapp, 95, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2013 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio.
She was born August 28, 1917 in Union County Ohio, to the late Lewis L. and Edna (Gregory) Wright.
On March 25, 1936 she married Marion Rapp in Vanceburg, Kentucky, and he preceded her in death June 12, 2011. She was also preceded in death by a son, Ronn Rapp; a daughter, Lorna Brown; two brothers, Harold and James Wright, and two sisters, Mildred Nau and Bonita Kavanaugh.
Surviving are two sons, Richard (Faith) Rapp of Lima, Ohio and Thomas (fiancé, Vicki Fay) Rapp of Bellefontaine; a daughter, Cindy (Steve) Dorsey of Urbana, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Rapp of DeGraff, Ohio; two sisters, Helen Lockwood of Marysville, Ohio and Maxine Vicario of Bellefontaine; a sister-in-law, Maxine Wright of Wooster, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; and her close friends, Carol Skeen, Joan Moody and Betty Cummins.
A 1935 graduate of Byhalia High school and a homemaker, Mary Jane was a long-time member of the Lewistown Trinity United Methodist Church. She volunteered at Our Daily Bread, was a member of the 20th Century Club and a forty year member of the Everyready Club. She enjoyed reading, word puzzles, crocheting, gardening and cooking.
Pastor Kenn Barton will officiate the 11:00 A.M. funeral service Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 4 to 7 P.M. Wednesday, April 3, 2013 and on Thursday, one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty.
