Mary Stevens

Mary Teresa Stevens, 78, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday afternoon, August 29, 2013 at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine.

She was born in Bellefontaine November 5, 1934, to the late Edward M. and Odilla F. (Dapore) Thobe. She was also preceded by a son, William E. Stevens; brothers William and Frank Thobe, and a great-granddaughter, Hatie Stevens in 2002. She married Omar Ray Stevens in 1957 in Bellefontaine. They later divorced and he preceded her in death in 2001.

Mary is survived by her children, Teresa (Charles) Cunningham of Bellefontaine, Ray E. (Francis) Stevens of Bellefontaine, Robert D. Stevens of Huntsville, Ohio, Mark W. (Paula) Stevens of West Mansfield, Ohio and John A. (Cheri) Stevens of Bellefontaine; a daughter-in-law, Sandy Stevens of Indiana; twenty three grandchildren and twenty four great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawrence J. (Florence) Thobe of Bellefontaine and many nieces and nephews.

Mary was a 1955 graduate of Bellefontaine High School and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary where where she was the Chaplain. She was also a member of the Tri-County Seniors – Group #2. Mary enjoyed her cats, crocheting, working on her puzzle books and watching the Game Show Network. She also loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013, at 11 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine with Pastor Bill Riley officiating.
