Mary O. “Odette” Trupp, 92, of Lakeview, Ohio, passed away at her home Wednesday morning, November 7, 2012.

She was born in West Chester, Indiana August 2, 1920, a daughter of the late Elmer Frantz and Mae Voissard Frantz Holsapple. She was also preceded in death by her brothers George Franz, Joe Franz, Sam Holsapple and Earl Holsapple.

Odette was a 1938 graduate of Versailles High School and married Charles W. Trupp November 26, 1945 at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Dayton, Ohio and he survives.

She is survived by her children, Mary Theresa Foreman of Lakeview, James C. (Patty) Trupp of San Diego, California, and Barbara Jean (Bill) Berry of Lakeview; four granddaughters, Pam (Patrick) Alter, Janice (Daryl) Curran, Valeria (Muriz) Alicajic and Carrie Trupp; a great-grandson, Aiden Z. Alicajic and a sister-in-law, Beverly Holsapple of Versailles, Ohio.

Odette worked as a nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton, Ohio from 1941-1942 and then joined the United States Army and served her country as a nurse from 1942-1945. Following her discharge from the Army, she worked for Dr. L. J. Lohr, M.D. from 1945-1949 in Dayton. Odette took time off to raise her family and later returned to Dr. Lohr’s practice retiring in the early 1970’s. She was a member of St. Mary of the Wood’s Catholic Church in Russells Point, Ohio and enjoyed walking, fishing, reading, cooking and playing euchre.

The funeral service will be held at the Myron Van Horn Chapel of the Smith-Eichholtz Funeral Home in Lakeview Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at 12 noon with Pastor Bryan Meadows officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio with military honors provided by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
