Mary Joan Forsythe Yoder, 91, of West Liberty, Ohio, met her Lord and Savior Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 1:15 A.M. at Green Hills Care Center in West Liberty.
She was born February 14, 1921 in Huntsville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Alexander Robert and Helen Margaret (Cooke) Forsythe. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Thomas Forsythe.
On August 20, 1942 in Belle Center, Ohio, she married Harold J. Yoder and he preceded her in death January 24, 2005.
Survivors include her children, Terence M. (Lily) Yoder of Moore, South Carolina and their six children and eleven grandchildren; J. Douglas (Charlotte) Yoder of Avon, Indiana and their four children and thirteen grandchildren; Timothy Lee (Sue) Yoder of West Liberty and their five children and six grandchildren; Ronald J. (Chris Ann) Yoder of Cable, Ohio and their four children and ten grandchildren; Carol Jeanne (Rodney) Robison of Tucson, Arizona and their five children and two grandchildren; J. Nicholas (Pamela) Yoder of Findlay, Ohio and their two children and one grandchild; C. Chris Yoder of Mansfield, Ohio; and a brother, Russell Forsythe of Belle Center, Ohio.
She was a librarian at the Grace Chapel Church in West Liberty for 50 plus years, where she was a charter member. She had a great love of books and enjoyed playing the piano and singing hymns.
Pastors Josh Gelatt and David Hernandez will conduct the funeral service at 11 A.M. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Grace Chapel Church in West Liberty, where calling hours will be Monday, April 9, 2012 from 6 to 8 P.M. and also on Tuesday one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
