Matthew Schaefer

Biography

Matthew Aaron Schaefer, 32, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at The Ohio State University Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He was born May 21, 1979 in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Duane L. Schaefer and Carleen Schaefer Brown, who survives in Bellefontaine.

On September 4, 1998, he married Candy Price in Lakeview, Ohio, and she survives along with their sons, Mathew A. III, Marcus A., and Marshall A. Schaefer, all at home; brothers, Mitchell A. (Samantha) and Myles A. Schaefer, both of Uhrichsville, Ohio; his grandmother, Anna F. Brown of Bellefontaine; his father-in-law, Lawrence Price; mother-in-law, Cheryl Deal Morin; brother-in-laws, Ross Price and fiancé, Baylee Thayer and Christopher Price and his fiancé, Amber Berry; nephews, Caleb, Caiden, Hunter, and Peyton; and several extended family members.

Matthew worked for Area Electric in Marysville, Ohio, and was an apprentice electrician at various companies from Virginia to Ohio. In Virginia, he worked for Lextara and worked on the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

He was a history buff and loved science. An avid reader, Matthew loved dragons and swords and liked to play Dragon’s of Atlantis on the computer.

Pastor Ron Irick will officiate the 1:30 P.M. funeral service Friday, October 21, 2011, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where friends may call from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. prior to the service. Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
