McKenzie Lene’ Rife, 21, passed away Saturday, March 17, 2012 as the result of an automobile accident near West Liberty, Oho. She was born August 7, 1990, the daughter of Jim and Deb (Hall) Rife who survive of Bellefontaine, Ohio.
She is also survived by her two sisters, Addie Rife of Bellefontaine and Bene’ (Kevin) Wills of Jupiter, Florida; her brother, Logan (Alicia) Rife of Richwood, Ohio; her maternal grandparents, Donald “Bud” and Mary Hall of Bellefontaine, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Charles and Stella Rife.
McKenzie was a 2008 graduate of Bellefontaine High School where she was a proud member of the marching band. She loved music and was a big fan of The Beatles and a strong follower of The Dave Matthews Band. She was currently a student at the University of Akron where she was majoring in Interior Design and had made the Dean’s List many times. She excelled in art and had a keen eye and appreciation for the architecture around her.
Kenz had a strong commitment to family; always making time to see others. In addition, she held close to her heart many friends and enjoyed spending time with them. Kenz had a passion for life and was always passing on her happy spirit to others. She embraced life and faced it with determination. She loved seeking treasures from vintage stores and using her artistic abilities to create her own originals. An original herself, she will be sadly missed by all.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 2 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. The funeral service will be held privately for the family with Pastor Mike Sandlin officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Kenzie Rife Scholarship Fund c/o Citizens Federal Savings and Loan Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. The scholarship will benefit BHS students who plan to major in music or art.
