Michael Bishop
Michael Eugene Bishop, 66, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Thursday evening, January 9, 2014 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio due to pneumonia.
He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio January 24, 1947, to the late George and Ella May (Smith) Bishop. Mike was raised by Hamer and Gladys Dipple as his mother passed away when he was eight days old. He has lived in the Men's Residential Home in Belle Center for the past twenty eight years where he received loving sacrificial care by their staff.
RTC Industries was a vital part of Mike's life. He worked there for thirty eight years alongside many friends and caring supervisors. He attended the Rushsylvania Church of Christ and had previously attended the Belle Center Church of Christ. Mike loved to collect things – especially radios, flashlights and decks of cards.
Mike was always eager to meet new people, shake their hand, ask their name and if they had any kids. He was always happy and very generous with smiles and hugs. He will be missed by many, especially the Betty Fulkerson family and the entire Varner family with whom he spent holidays and birthdays.
Pastor Lynn Cleaveland will conduct the funeral service Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at 11 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine where visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at the Fairview Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
