Mildred Louise Owings, age 76, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine.
She was born August 25, 1937 in Bellefontaine, to the late Thomas W. and Della Mary (Siffin) Berry.
On March 1, 1968, she married Marvin “Mike” Owings in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death October 3, 1991. She was also preceded in death by nine brothers, two sisters and a great grandson.
Surviving are her children, William B. (Deb) Miller of Harrod, Ohio, Kent E. (Maria) Miller of Dallas, Texas, Janice L. Miller of Bellefontaine, Lou Anne Miller of Lakeview, Ohio and Judy (Bud) Alexander of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, O’Leatha (Luke) Tucker, Tiffany (Andy) Jacobs, Cameron Miller, Erik (Pat) Alexander and Kevin (Lou) Alexander; great grandchildren, Cody Jacobs and Kaylee Tucker; sisters, Olive Woodard of Bellefontaine and Shirley (John) Holdren of Columbus, Ohio, and a brother, George Franklin Berry of Illinois.
Louise was a nurse’s assistant at Mary Rutan Hospital, worked for LPZ and made pies for the Wee Ben Cafeteria and the Oak Cafeteria in Bellefontaine.
A member of the First Church of God in Bellefontaine, she loved making strawberry jam and going to garage sales.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Chuck and Jill Post and Bonnie Zell for the care of their mom when she was home.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, May 11, 2014, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. A graveside service will be held in the Huntsville Cemetery at 11:00 A.M. Monday, May 12, 2014 in Huntsville, Ohio with Pastor F. Michael Valentine officiating.
