Mildred Stratton

Mildred J. Stratton, 83, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at her residence.

She was born February 22, 1930, in Bellefontaine to the late Oscar L. and Gaynelle (Young) Albert.

On September 4, 1948, she married Herbert A. “Cork” Stratton in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death July 23, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Lynn in 1951 and a brother, Richard Albert.

Surviving are her children, Darlene Lee (Edgar) Hinton of Hilliard, Ohio, Monte (Esperanza Shoe) Stratton and Tony (Angela) Stratton, both of Bellefontaine; six grandchildren, Sarah (Greg) Rokoff, Adam Hinton, Kane and Kirk Stratton, Jason Stratton and Heather (Josh Deans) Stratton; great grandchildren, Rachel and Connor; her sisters, Phyllis Rash of West Liberty, Ohio and Nancy (Don) Mobley of Bellefontaine; a sister-in-law, Maxine Albert of Bellefontaine, and many nieces and nephews.

Mildred retired in 1989 from Unemployment/Job and Family Services. She had formerly worked at the Logan County Bank and Detroit Aluminum and Brass in Bellefontaine.

She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine and worked as a volunteer for the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Calling hours will be held Friday, October 4, 2013, from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where Pastor Jeffory Willetts will officiate the 11:00 A.M. funeral service Saturday, October 5, 2013. Interment will be at the Middleburg Cemetery in Middleburg, Ohio.
