Mildred A. “Millie” Swaidner, 96, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013 at Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio.

Millie was born December 8, 1916, in Bellevue, Pennsylvania to the late J. Clyde and Mary (Pitzer) Amon. On April 4, 1941, she married Arthur W. Swaidner in Pennsylvania and he preceded her in death May 28, 1998. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Matthew Swaidner, two brothers and two sisters.

Surviving are her children, James A. (Renda) Swaidner of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Jo Anne (Stephen) Snyder of Bellefontaine; two sisters, Helen A. Bright of Fallbrook, California and Mary Jane (Harry) Sheppard of Hermitage, Pennsylvania; five grandchildren, Eric (Claire) Swaidner of Colorado Springs, Jeremy Swaidner of Moscow, Russia, Ashley (Mark) Gonzales, Colorado Springs, Lori (Brian) Salyer of Bellefontaine, Luke (Marcie) Snyder of Bellefontaine; great grandchildren, Jared and Jacob Salyer, Ethan Swaidner, Madison Snyder and Lauren Gonzales; step-greatgrandchildren, Jason Jones, Alicia and Kayla Cunningham, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Millie resided in Wapakoneta, Ohio for fifty years, during which she was active in the Wapakoneta Women’s Club, the Junior Service League, the Helen Hunt Circle and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, where she loved singing in the choir. After the death of her husband, she moved to Bellefontaine where she became a member of the First United Presbyterian Church. For the past six years she had resided at the Green Hills Community in West Liberty, Ohio, where she was fairly active making many new friends – they were her West Liberty “family.”

A memorial service will be held at the Green Hills Community Chapel Friday, February 22, 2013 at 3 P.M. where calling hours will be held two hours prior starting at 1 P.M. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1 P.M. at the Greenlawn Cemetery in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
