Minnie Jane Givens Jeffrey, 78, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born January 7, 1933, in Logan County, to the late Albert Justin and Viola May (Snyder) Stanford.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Marshall Givens, who passed away November 20, 1994. On November 28, 1998, she married John “Jake” Jeffrey in North Lewisburg, Ohio, and he preceded her in death August 2, 2010.

Surviving are her children, David Givens of Bellefontaine, Carol (Gary) Simmons of Rushsylvania, Ohio, JoAnna (Tony) Eaton of Bellefontaine and Cynthia (Steve) Harris of DeGraff, Ohio; 2 brothers, Charles (Virginia) Stanford of East Liberty, Ohio and Richard (Patricia) Stanford of Rushsylvania; a sister, Evelyn (William) Givens of Rushsylvania; 8 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Minnie Jane was a homemaker and retired from Mary Rutan Hospital where she was a ward secretary.

A member of the Crossroads Christian Church and the Mary Rutan Hospital Guild II, she volunteered at the Logan County Chamber and loved to sew. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Pastor John James will officiate an 11:00 A.M. memorial service Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at the Crossroads Christian Church, where calling hours are from 5 to 7 P.M. Monday, October 31, 2011, and 1 hour prior to the service on Tuesday. There will be a private committal service at the Rushsylvania Cemetery.
