Mona Lou McClain, 82, of Bellefontaine passed away Tuesday morning, January 24, 2017 at her home surrounded by her loving husband of 65 years and her family. She was born in Bellefontaine on September 3, 1934 to the late John E. and Edna P. (Creek) Jones.
A 1952 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Mona was a homemaker and the office manager for McClain’s Body & Paint. She enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, snowmobiling, gardening, bird and squirrel watching. Mona was a member of Kings Daughter and the Bellefontaine First Friends Church.
Mona is survived by her husband, Robert McClain, whom she married on June 4, 1952 in Bellefontaine. She is also survived by daughters: Kristy J. McClain of West Liberty and Lori (John) Truesdale of Bellefontaine; grandchildren: Kristina (Josh) Hagemann of Centerburg, Jessica Earick of Bellefontaine and John (Lauren) Truesdale of Edinburg, Scotland; two great-grandchildren: Skylar and Brock Hagemann; sisters: Judy (Richard) Lyons of Urbana and Karen Kaye Moon of Bellefontaine; and several nieces and nephews.
Pastor Matt Sandlin will officiate a graveside service on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 1pm at Bellefontaine Cemetery. Directly following the graveside service, there will be a time of fellowship with the family at Bellefontaine First Friends Church.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine.
