Murell A. Chapman, Jr., 77, of West Liberty, passed away on Monday, February 16, 2015 at Mary Rutan Hospital, Bellefontaine.
He was born on October 12, 1937 in Union County, OH to the late Murell A. Sr. and LaVon (Organ) Chapman. .
His first wife, Judith A. (Shepard) Chapman, preceded him in death on February 28, 1998. He is also preceded in death by two brothers.
Surviving is his fiancé, Carol Mealer of West Liberty; his children, Angela Harker of Girard, OH and M. Richard (Allison) Chapman of Fulton, TX; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a sister, Eileen Charles of Bellefontaine.
Murell was a truck driver for 34 years and worked for Anchor Motor Freight.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Madriver Mason Lodge #61, West Liberty American Legion Post #426 and Order of the Eastern Star.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty on Friday, February 20, 2015 where a funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2015. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery, Urbana, Ohio with military rites by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard.
The Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in West Liberty assisted the family with arrangements.
