Nancy Dilley-Smith, of Zanesfield, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022, after a short hospitalization.
Nancy was born on February 9, 1953, in Painesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Mildred Dilley.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Bruce Smith, a sister Joan Wilson, a brother William Dilley, and numerous nieces and nephews. Nancy is predeceased by her parents, her sister, Patricia Dilley Ryant, and a brother, John Dilley.
Nancy graduated from the Cleveland institute of Art (B.F.A.) majoring in glass and sculpture. She was a recipient of the Gund Award and exhibited at the Cleveland Museum of Art’s May show on two occasions. Nancy continued her studies at the University of Illinois. She was a fellow at the Creative Glass Center of America in Millville, NJ, and she taught at Golden Glass in Cincinnati.
Nancy also worked for several years at Kirkmont Center where she conducted the summer arts program and served as a staff naturalist.
A memorial service will be held in the Cleveland area in the spring.
