Neil P. Shough

Neil P. Shough, age 79, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at his home. He was born in Logan County Ohio February 12, 1939, to the late Paul Shough and Beatrice (Chamberlain) Shough Larsen. In addition to his parents, Neil was preceded in death by a brother Rocky Shough and a nephew, Stoney.

On November 18, 1977, Neil married Bonnie Zimmel-Hurley in Bellefontaine, Ohio and she survives along with his four children, Melanie (Darrel) Godwin, Jeffrey (Joyce) Shough, Kathleen (Jim) Whitehead, and Ryan (Alisa) Shough; four step-children, Bill Hurley, Tamara (Stu) Jenkins, Brian Hurley, and JSterling (Louie Rosado) Hurley; twenty one grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren; a sister, Gloria Hendershott; a brother, Dan (Fran) Shough and several nieces and nephews.

Neil was a hard worker who drove semi-truck most of his career retiring from Nash Finch in December 2001. He had worked at Airstream in Jackson Center for a period of time as well as help build the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bellefontaine. Neil was a lover of horses and was a member of the Central Ohio Wagoneers. He enjoyed being outdoors, tinkering with anything mechanical, and especially the time he was able to spend with his DeGraff and Belle Center Amish friends.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine, where a memorial service will begin at 7:00 P.M. Casual attire is requested in Neil’s honor.

The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
