Nelva Marie Davis, 89, of rural Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2011, at her daughter’s residence in Delaware, Ohio. She was born April 12, 1922, in Union County to the late Fred and Bessie (Bird) McIntosh.

She is survived by her husband, Carlyle Davis, whom she married December 22, 1951. Also surviving are their children, Christine (Doyle) Hartman, Christopher (Valerie) Davis, Jeanette Davis and Daniel (Carol) Davis; a brother, Carrol McIntosh; and grandchildren, Janelle, Jason and Ryan Hartman, and Elizabeth, Catherine, Ahna Marie and Abigail Davis.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Dallas and Philip McIntosh.

A devoted Christian and homemaker, Nelva was a member of the Bellefontaine First Friends Church where she played piano and organ and taught children’s Sunday school classes for many years. She loved music and enjoyed flowers, baking pies, making candy and serving others.

Calling hours are Friday, September 9, 2011 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Pastors Casey and Deb Storm will officiate the 10:00 A.M. funeral service at the Bellefontaine First Friends Church Saturday, September 10, 2011, where there will be visitation from 9 to 10 A.M. prior to the service. Interment will be in the York Cemetery in York Center, Ohio.
