Nita J. Moore, 90, of Bellefontaine, passed away Thursday morning, March 17, 2016 at Logan Acres Care Center. She was born in Logan County on April 9, 1925 to the late Harland Spencer and Susan Marie (Watkins) Laird.
She married William E. Moore on December 15, 1943 in Belle Center and he preceded her in death on May 17, 2008. She was also preceded in death by their son, William Moore, Jr. in, April 2015 and a sister, Vida Laird.
Nita was a longtime member of the Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church, where she was very active with the Women’s Group and several other committees where she held many positions. She was a 4-H Leader for many years and enjoyed crocheting and sewing.
Nita is survived by a daughter, Cindy (Chuck) Blair of Bellefontaine; son: Doug (Susan) Moore of Powell, Ohio; seven grandchildren: Scott (Nancy) Moore, Susie (Dan) Queen, Melissa Moore, Emily (Aaron) Pool, Jeffrey (Lori) Blair, Stephen Moore and Scott Moore; nine great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Phyllis Moore of Belle Center, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Joe & Emma Krock of Kenton, and several nieces and nephews.
Pastor H. Kearns will officiate a memorial service on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
