Norma M. Beatty, 85, of Belle Center, Ohio, passed away Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, Ohio. She was born April 3, 1925 in Akron, Ohio, to the late Oscar and Ethel (Dunson) Sloan.
On June 25, 1942, she married John W. Beatty in Kentucky, and he preceded her in death July 5, 2010. Also preceding her in death was a son-in-law, Charles Cousineau, and a nephew, Gary Hesser.
Surviving are three daughters, Judy A. Cousineau of Bellefontaine, Jeanie E. (Charles) Sullivan of Belle Center, and Jackie (Douglas) Woodward of Shellsburg, Iowa; a brother, Wilber Sloan and sister, Danna Musser, both of Kenton, Ohio; grandchildren, Tara Johnson of Belle Center, Todd (Kelly) Cousineau of Batavia, Ohio, Brian (Krista) Sullivan of Marysville, Ohio, Corey (Brianne) Sullivan of Belle Center, Tina Shuvo, Christine Woodward and Timothy (Ashley) Woodward all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and nine great grandchildren.
A homemaker, Norma worked for Siemens. She was a member of the Belle Center United Methodist Church where she was a former member of the Morning Circle and a member of the Women’s Society of Christian Service. She enjoyed camping, sewing, crafts and loved being with her family and friends.
Calling hours are Thursday, July 29, 2010, from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Belle Center. Rev. Kevin Smith will conduct the funeral service at 3:00 P.M. Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Belle Center United Methodist with one hour of visitation prior to the service. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
