Norma Mae Coyer

Norma Mae Coyer, age 79, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 5:47 A.M. Thursday, August 22, 2019 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

She was born in Logan County Ohio March 3, 1940, the daughter of the late James F. and Roxie L. (LaPorte) Reames.

On May 16, 1959, she married Ralph E. Coyer in Bellefontaine and he preceded her in death August 20, 1997.  She was also preceded her in death by a half-brother, Bill Reames and an aunt, Margaret LaPorte.

She is survived by a daughter, Kim (Shane) Summers; a son, Ralph “JR” E. (Keely) Coyer, all of Bellefontaine; three grandchildren, Brock (Emily) Coyer, Sierra (Aaron) Myers, and John Summers; two great grandchildren, Hailey and Rowan; three half-brothers, Jim Reames of Waynesfield, Ohio, Joe Reames of Valley Hi, and Bob Reames of Bellefontaine; her step-mother, Delores Jacobs of Bellefontaine; numerous nieces and nephews and special friends, Joe and Carol Ransbottom.

Norma worked for Uhlman’s Department Store in Bellefontaine before going to work for the Logan County Auditor’s Office.  She along with her husband Ralph, owned and operated the Chicken Ranch in Bellefontaine.  She later worked for Logan Acres Care Center as a cook and then as activities director.

She enjoyed cooking and baking especially for others, and she will always be remembered for her cakes, pies and homemade noodles.  She was the happiest when she was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Pastor Ray Headings will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.

Burial will follow the funeral service at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.

The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
