Norma Herring
Norma L. (Summers) Herring, 77, of Bellefontaine, Ohio went to be with her Lord at 4:30 A.M. from Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine Thursday, February 28, 2013 after battling a long illness.
She was born December 11, 1935 in Huntsville, Ohio, to the late John Robert and Audrey Lucile (Tracy) Wallace. Norma married Robert L. Summers July 15, 1955 in Huntsville, and he preceded her in death April 10, 1972. She was also preceded in death by a son, Robert “Bobby” Summers.
Norma remarried in 1977 to Russell L. Herring who survives. She is also survived by her children, Rod (Terri) Summers of Rushsylvania, Ohio, Shane (Kim) Summers and Cheri Alltop both of Bellefontaine; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Summers of Bellefontaine; a brother, Richard “Dick” Wallace of Marion, Ohio; ten grandchildren, Janie, Ashley, Rod (Roddie), Jill, Austin, Sierra and Johnny Summers, Brison, Beau and Brianna Swank, and several nieces and nephews.
A State Tested Nurse's Aide, Norma worked at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine and retired after twenty plus years of service. She was a member of the Rushsylvania Church of Christ and enjoyed going to the casinos and spending time with her family.
Calling hours are Sunday, March 3, 20123 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where Pastors John James and Craig Howie will officiate the funeral service Monday, March 4, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
