Norma McMillen

Norma June (Byrd) McMillen, 83, of Kenton, passed away at 8:45 p.m. on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Kentuckiana Medical Center in Clarksville, Indiana. She was born in Hardin County, Ohio on December 30, 1932 to the late Roy E. and Judith Claribel (Jones) Byrd. On July 27, 1947 she married Ross B. “Bud” McMillen and he preceded her in death April 9, 1993. Also preceding her in death were a son, John E. McMillen; a daughter, Linda R. Arbogast; and sisters, Juanita Whaley and Judy Craig.

She is survived by her daughters, Julia Kissling of Kenton, Cathy (Josh) Owsley of Madison, Indiana, Janet (Mike) Savage of Kenton, and Gloria (Chuck) Usas of Russells Point; her sons, Douglas (Kathie) McMillen of Bellefontaine and Norman McMillen of Ludlow Falls, Ohio; many grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sisters, Helen Burke of Lima and Mary Mulligan of Kenton.

Norma worked at Siemens for 27 years in Bellefontaine and retired in May 1995. Norma enjoyed her family, grandchildren, and friends. She was “Mom” to those who knew her and was loved by all who came in contact with her; all who loved her will miss Norma. She enjoyed her days at the Center of Seniors playing cards and visiting. Norma also enjoyed sewing, gardening, and her home.

Pastor David Robinson will officiate a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 306 N. Elizabeth Street, Belle Center. Visitation will be 2 hours prior at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
