Ocie Landes

Ocie Kathleen Landes, 88, of Kenton, Ohio, and formerly of Rushsylvania, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2009 in Lima Memorial Hospital, Lima, Ohio.

She was born February 28, 1921, the daughter of the late Charles F. and Elizabeth (Dudderar) Napier. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Virgil Blumenschein who preceded her in death in 1978, and Delmer Landes who preceded in her in death in 2000. She was also preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

She is survived by her three sons; William (Kathy) Blumenschein of East Liberty, Ohio, Charles Blumenschein of Marion, Ohio, and John (Shirley) Blumenschein of Huntsville, Ohio; a step daughter, Jo Anne Jones of Rushsylvania; ten grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Kenton, where she belonged to the knitting club and also helped with the church newsletter. She worked at the G. C. Murphy Company of Bellefontaine and enjoyed crafts.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 27, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Rushsylvania, with Rev. Peter Paige officiating. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Miami Cemetery in Rushsylvania. Calling hours at be at the funeral home on Sunday, July 26, 2009, from 2 P.M. to 5 P.M.
