Odessa Lee Dillon, age 68, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away Thursday afternoon, November 16, 2017 at her home. She was born in Columbus, Ohio May 1, 1949, to the late Cherie (Taylor) Gilmore. Odessa married Lawrence I. Dillon, Jr. September 1, 1968 in Columbus and he preceded her in death October 11, 2011. She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law Ralph, Homer, Clayton, Donald, and James Dillon.
Odessa is survived by her daughter, Felisha (Clint) May; her sons, Lawrence (Tamara) Dillon III and David Dillon, all of Bellefontaine; six grandchildren, Christina, Bridget, and Shelbi Dillon, Layla and Zavier May, and Christopher O’Brien; great-grandchildren, Heaven Shields and Isaiah Neighoff; an aunt, Mary Huffman of Columbus; a sister, Cherie Gilmore of Columbus; brothers: Mike (Gwen) Hand, George Hand, Daniel (Tammy) Gilmore, David Gilmore, Ralph Gilmore, William (Carol) Gilmore, and Adam Gilmore, all of Columbus; several sisters and brothers-in-law as well as many nieces and nephews.
Odessa had worked for the Super 8 Motel in Bellefontaine for the last ten years. She loved her family and all of her friends and co-workers. Odessa loved KFC, doing her fill-in puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Odessa never closed the door to someone in need as she had an open heart and home to countless friends and family.
Visitation will be held at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Bellefontaine Saturday, November 25, 2017 from 4 to 6 P.M.
