Onalea “Lee” Metz, age 84, of Jackson Center, Ohio passed away at 2:17 P.M. Monday, December 24, 2018, at Lima Memorial Hospital in Lima, Ohio.
She was born October 7, 1934 in Arkansas. Her aunt, Mary Mills raised her in Verona, Ohio.
She is survived by her children, Rick (Nancy) Ambos, Vickie (Steve) Eakins, Darrell (Teresa) Ambos, Cheryl (Steve) Minnich, and Jackie (Scott) Cornwell; ten grandchildren; six great grandchildren; her first husband, Don Ambos; special niece and nephew, Jan and Dan and a special dog, Scotty.
Lee’s second husband, Norm Metz preceded her in death May 12, 1997.
Lee retired from Airstream and spent time working at Phil’s Market in Jackson Center. She loved being around her family and all her grandkids. She enjoyed eating out every Wednesday with her friends and also enjoyed playing cards and shopping with her girls. In her younger years, Lee was a great bowler. All who knew and loved Lee will miss her.
Visitation will be held Friday December 28, 2018, from 4 to 7 P.M. at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Jackson Center.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at the funeral home.
Burial will follow the funeral service at the Glen Cemetery in Port Jefferson, Ohio.
The arrangements are in the care of the staff of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in Jackson Center.
