Patsy Sue Porterfield

Patsy Sue Porterfield, 90, of Indian Lake, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, February 19, 2023, at Mary Rutan Hospital in Bellefontaine, OH.

She is survived by her husband, Harold, and their daughters, Jan Porterfield-Keenan (Pat Keenan) and Lori Hoerig (Tim Hoerig), all of Indian Lake. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Leslie Hoerig (Erik Tait) of Columbus, OH and Jennifer Hoerig (Michael Gordon) of Bremerton, WA. Her parents, Harry and Mary Robb, and her sisters, Lewella Fondale and Betty Colling, preceded her in death.

Patsy was born in Coffeyville, KS on May 5, 1932, and moved to Marion, OH as a young girl. She graduated from Waldo School in 1950. On December 20, 1952, Patsy married her high school sweetheart, Harold Porterfield. During their 70 years of marriage, they had lived in Waldo, Portsmouth, Bellevue, Marion, and Indian Lake. They had traveled with their camper throughout North America and Mexico. They also enjoyed traveling to Europe.

As a young adult, Patsy served in the Air Force.  As a wife and mother, she had been involved in Girl Scout leadership, church, choir, and school activities, such as Band Boosters. Her hobbies included painting, gardening, and most recently, puzzles. Her love for animals was apparent whether it be family pets or animals in nature and in the zoo. She was excited to visit with friends and meet new people. Patsy had always loved music and dancing. Family and friends all agree that she is now dancing in heaven!

There will be no funeral service, but memorial contributions may be made online to Universal Home Care and Hospice in Bellefontaine, OH. https://www.uhcinc.org/donate.html    Donations can also be given to the family to be use in purchasing a “Living Memorial” bench to be set in the area of Pew Island.
