Paul E. Comer, 87, of Zanesfield, passed away at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, May 23, 2016 at the Campbell Place in Bellefontaine. He was born in Champaign County on August 13, 1928 to the late Forest and Lena (Pence) Comer.
Along with his parents, Paul was preceded in death by two sisters, Imogene Clapsaddle and Treva Clapsaddle; and a brother, Bill Comer.
He is survived by his wife, Julia A. (Newman) Comer of Belle Center; his sons, Phil (Marsha) Comer of Wapakoneta, Rob (Jenny) Comer of Bellefontaine, and Rich (Christine) Comer of Australia; five grandchildren, Matt Comer, Roman Comer, Liam Comer, Hayden Comer and Brad Pulfer; three great grandchildren, Paige Comer, Trent Comer, and Reed Comer; a sister, Kathleen Ricketts of Zanesfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Paul was a Korean War veteran who became a farmer and later worked as an excavator. He enjoyed tapping maple trees for syrup, reading and walking in the woods.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, Belle Center.
