Paul Samuel Deffenbaugh, 70, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully at 7:30 a.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at his home. He was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on October 31, 1954, a son of the late William Claude Deffenbaugh and Virginia Catherine (Craft) Deffenbaugh.
On August 4, 2001, Paul married Cheryl L. (Hollinger) Schneider Deffenbaugh in Bellefontaine, and she survives, along with two sons, Brian (Tammy) Schneider, and Scott (Darla) Schneider; a stepdaughter, Colleen Talbert; nine grandchildren, Jordan Reis, Brittany Schneider, Delaney (Sheldon) Vail, Harley Schneider, Bailey Schneider, Madison (fiancé Jordan Jobe) Schneider, Dakota Schneider, Shane Talbert, and Amanda Talbert; two sisters, Sue Deffenbaugh, and Kathy Deffenbaugh; a sister-in-law, Donna Deffenbaugh; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bill Deffenbaugh.
Paul retired from Honda in 2017. He was a member of Bellefontaine F.O.E. #2166, Bellefontaine Moose Lodge #2563, and V.F.W. Frank D. Castle Post #1080 in Bellefontaine. He enjoyed playing golf, electronics, and computers.
Per Paul’s wishes, there will be no public services at this time.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Universal Home Health & Hospice and Paul’s caregivers for the exceptional care provided.
Memorial contribution may be made, in Paul’s memory, to a charity of the donor’s choice.
