Paul Fitzpatrick, 84, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at 8:20 A.M. at Green Hills Center in West Liberty, Ohio. He was born in Logan County, Ohio April 3, 1925, a son of the late Patrick and Lucia (Parks) Fitzpatrick. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph and Lawrence.
On May 28, 1960 in Bellefontaine, he married the former Rachel Spangler and she survives along with sons, Paul Alan Fitzpatrick of Atlanta, Georgia, Darrin Fitzpatrick of Columbus, Ohio, Robert S. (Becky) Dinovo of Titusville, Florida; daughter, Teresa Dinovo of Bellefontaine; five grandchildren, Rendy (Doug) Matthews of Atlanta, Georgia, Heather (Corey) Schier and Emily (Lachlan) Butcher both of Atlanta, Georgia, Rachelle Fitzpatrick and Paul Fitzpatrick both of Cleveland, Tennessee; great-granddaughter, Cathryn Matthews; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Fitzpatrick and Carolyn Fitzpatrick, both of Bellefontaine and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was a brakeman and conductor for the railroad.
He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Elks and AMVETS, all of Bellefontaine. He enjoyed fishing and working in his workshop as a carpenter.
Father Patrick Sheridan will conduct a funeral mass at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bellefontaine. Calling hours are Friday, August 19, 2011 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine. Interment will take place in the columbarium at the Calvary Cemetery in Bellefontaine.
