Paul Douglas Taylor, Sr. died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at Heartland of Bellefontaine. He was born on November 29, 1939 in Urbana, Ohio to the late Charles Washington and Marjorie Elizabeth (Ladd) Taylor. He was also preceded in death by a sister Brenda.
Paul is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, Valorie Jean Taylor; sons: Jesse D. Williams of Everett, Washington, Dallas D. Williams of Bellefontaine, Anthony E. Taylor of Long Beach, CA, Paul D. (Teresa) Taylor, Jr. of Bellefontaine and Aaron S. Taylor I of Bellefontaine; daughters: Beverly L. Dixon of Bellefontaine, Danielle M. (Fernando) Smith of Piqua, Vera J. Taylor of Long Beach, CA, Paula J. (Michael) Causey of Cincinnati, Helena A. (Jim) Berton of Bellefontaine; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers: Thomas D. (Pat) Taylor and Charles W. (Kathy) Taylor; sisters: Charlotte J. (Richard) Deslandes, Freda G. Smith, Deborah K. (Anthony) Johnson and Barbara L. (Marcellus Jr.) Allen; aunts: Mozelle Couts of Urbana and Janice Gray of Springfield; and many loving friends, nieces and nephews.
Paul worked at Ritter Bros., Logan Packing Meat, Logan County Janitorial and was a railroad conductor. He was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness, where he served as an Elder for many years. He loved Jehovah with all his heart and he shared that love with his wife. Together, he was her Evergreen and she was his Everything.
Friends may call at The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1801 Wright St., Bellefontaine, on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 11am – 1pm. The Memorial Talk will be given by Marcellus Allen, Jr. at 2:00 p.m.
Funeral arrangements were handled by the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Bellefontaine.
