Paul Wearly

Paul Eugene Wearly, 88, of Fort Thomas, Kentucky, formerly of West Liberty, Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday, October 12, 2010. Paul was raised in West Liberty, a son of the late Reverend Robert and Ada Wearly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Wearly in 1986, brothers, Robert, Wilbur, Max and sisters Esther, Ruth, Dorothy, and Crystal.

Paul proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II. His focus in life was his family. He was a hard worker, enjoyed following baseball, basketball and playing golf, especially with his brothers and, later in life, with his grandsons. He will live in our hearts forever.

Paul is survived by his second wife, Ruth (Zint) Wearly of Fort Thomas, Kentucky; his devoted daughters, Diana (Ken) Cain of Cincinnati, Ohio, Rebecca (Mark) Yoder of Columbus, Ohio; his beloved grandchildren Heather, Rob, Adam, Katie, Kimberly; ten great-grandchildren; his brothers, Keith (Marion) and John (Katie) Wearly; and many special nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the West Liberty United Church of Christ, 212 W. Newell St., West Liberty, OH 43357. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 12:00 P.M. Saturday at the church prior to the service, with the Reverend Grayson Atha officiating.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the West Liberty United Church of Christ in Paul’s name. Special thanks to the wonderful staff at Hospice of the Bluegrass, his friends and extended family.

The staff at the Kauffman-Eichholtz Funeral Home in West Liberty handled the arrangements.
