Pauline R. Stephens-Hall, 96, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, went to meet her precious Lord Thursday, August 8, 2013. She had been waiting and praying for this reunion.
She was born September 8, 1916, in Marion, Ohio to the late Osborne and Rebecca Staley.
On May 18, 1941, she married Dale E. Stephens and he preceded her in death February 22, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Dalene Barnett.
Surviving is her son, David (Sandra) Stephens; five grandchildren, Scott Stephens, Kimberly Yoder, Diana Jones, Daniel (Christy) Barnett and Michelle (Pete) Blosser; seven great grandchildren, Kayla Stephens, Maegan Jones, Justin Jones, Kelsey Barnett, Lauren Barnett, Tucker Barnett and Olivia Blosser; and one great-great grandchild, Braylon Jones.
Pauline was a graduate of the Cleveland Bible College, now Malone University and attended the Huntington College in Huntington, Indiana. An ordained elder of the United Brethren in Christ Church, she was one of the early trail blazers of women pastors. She served as pastor for thirty one years and as an associate pastor for five years. Pauline retired in 1979, but was active in various ministry roles for many more years. She and Dale enjoyed serving together for many years.
Rev. Kenneth Graham and Rev. Roger Overmyer will officiate the 12:00 P.M. funeral service Monday, August 12, 2013, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Wayne, Ohio at a later date
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Camp Cotubic, a place she loved and supported.
