Peter Zimmerman
Peter P. Zimmerman, 74, of Urbana and formerly of Upper Sandusky, passed away at 5:41 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Mercy Memorial Hospital in Urbana, Ohio. He was born in Marion, Ohio on April 16, 1942 to the late Burton B. and Mary L. (Paul) Zimmerman.
Pete married Elaine Ruth Spurlock, and she preceded him in death in 1997. He later married the former Betty Lynn Mardis on June 7, 2007 in Xenia, Ohio, and she survives, along with four children, Paula Louise (Jamie) Zimmerman-Brown, Adam Carroll Zimmerman, Nicholas (Heather Faulder) Miller, and Joni (Frank Aultman) Miller; seven grandchildren, Tanner Brown, Toby Miller, Leota Miller, Ryan Miller, Jalyn Groves, Rick Groves, and Nathaniel Groves.
A U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, Pete retired as a security guard from Rodbat in East Liberty. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Upper Sandusky and the V.F.W. in Kenton and Upper Sandusky.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Dayton National Cemetery in Dayton, Ohio.
Funeral arrangements are in care of the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Bellefontaine.
