Phillip Ray “Bud” Moon, 72, of Bellefontaine passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday afternoon, August 23, 2016 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus.
He was born in Logan County on January 18, 1944 to the late Arthur and Helen (Rhoades) Moon. Bud was also preceded in death by four brothers, Frank, Charles, Robert, and Harold Moon and a sister, Betty Rally.
Bud married the former Anne Rosemary Predmore on February 14, 1965 in Logan County and she survives in Bellefontaine. He is also survived by a son Kevin (Nikki) Moon of Tennessee, a daughter Kim Moon of Bellefontaine; grandchildren: Mackenzie Moon, Caitlin Huffman and Alyssa (James) Brown, a great-grandchild, Chloe Grumbling and was expecting another in February 2017, a brother, Fred (Jean) Moon, of Bellefontaine; and sisters: Phyllis K. Moon of Nebraska and Vicki Dodds of Bellefontaine, brother-in-law, Terry (Cindy) Predmore and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bud retired from Carter Steel where he had worked for 28 years. He was an avid fan of all sports and loved The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds, and the Cleveland Browns. He was like to a father to all of the neighborhood kids and was always the “all-time quarterback” or “all-time pitcher” in the pick-up games. He truly just enjoyed being with his family.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
