Phillip Marion Salyer, 69, of Quincy, Ohio, passed away Saturday afternoon April 26, 2014, at his home.
He was born in Paynesville, Kentucky February 24, 1945, to the late Curtis and Delma (Williams) Salyer. He was also preceded in death by a son, William Alvis Salyer, a grandson, Donavon Hempker and a great-grandson, Brenon Martin.
On November 11, 1977, he married the former Sharon Robinson in Quincy, and she survives.
He is also survived by his children: Mark (Holly) Salyer of Mingo, Ohio, Tracey (Bob) Salyer-Lowery of Lakeview, Ohio, Chad (Angie) Salyer of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Tonya (Dave) Salyer-Hempker of Bellefontaine, Phillip M. Salyer, Jr. of Quincy and Billie Jo (Mike Gillenwater) Salyer of Bellefontaine; twenty grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four sisters: Harriett (Norman) Thomas of Lakeview, Brenda (Melvin) Lattimer of Spring Hills, Ohio, Joy (Phil) Horne of Bellefontaine, Wilma (Jim) Vertress of London, Ohio; brothers: Bob (Elaine) Salyer of DeGraff, Ohio, Curtis Salyer of Lakeview and Jack Salyer of Bellefontaine, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Phillip retired from Airstream in Jackson Center, Ohio where he worked as an assembler for over thirty years. He enjoyed fishing, restoring old cars, gardening and being outside. He loved his dogs Cricket, Baby and Tiny.
Pastor Mark Hina will officiate a memorial service at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff. Calling hours will be held two hours prior to the memorial service. Interment will be at a later date.
