Phyllis Eileen Baker, 86, of Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away Friday afternoon, January 10, 2014 at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio.
Phyllis was born in Huntsville, Ohio December 27, 1927, to the late John Arthur and Mildred Cleo (Torrence) Jenkins.
She married Donald Eugene Baker September 14, 1947, in Huntsville and he preceded her in death June 22, 2004. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Tim Heinlen; a sister, Margaret A. Seaton; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Don and Dorothy Fultz; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joseph and Pauline Baker; a niece, Debbie Benedict, and nephews Michael Weller, Joey Baker and Ron Yoder.
Phyllis is survived by her daughters, Judith “Anne” Heinlen of Bellefontaine, Mary “Jane” Baker of Bellefontaine and Karen Eileen (Tom) Primavera of Hamilton, Ohio; a sister, Mary H. (Bob) Weller of Bellefontaine; numerous nieces and nephews including John (Suzan) Weller and Sean (Angela) Pasquet; two step-grandchildren, Jeff (Gayle) Heinlen of Columbus, Ohio and Ben (Sung Bae) Heinlen of Lexington, Kentucky and three step-great-grandchildren.
A graduate of Sidney High School, Phyllis was a homemaker and a member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Bellefontaine. She was a former member of several church circles and had been a Sunday School teacher. Phyllis enjoyed BINGO and was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds. Most of all, she was a loving wife and mother who was very dedicated to her family.
Pastor Rob Fulton will officiate the funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 16, 2014, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine where visitation will be held from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. prior to the funeral service. Interment will be at the Huntsville Cemetery in Huntsville, Ohio.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the entire staff at Logan Acres for all the kindness and good care extended to their mother during her time there.
