Phyllis J. Pulfer, age 83, of rural Bellefontaine, Ohio, passed away at 12:55 A.M. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio.
She was born in Dayton, Ohio January 8, 1931, to the late Charles Sr. and Frieda (Klenk) Schwartz. On July 4, 1948, she married Marvin Pulfer in Jackson Center, Ohio and he preceded her in death in September of 2006. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda (Delmar) Zeigler of Alger, Ohio and Karen Stevens of New Jersey; a son, Ed (Deb) Pulfer of Belle Center; eight grandchildren, Sheri Lombardi, Jason Zeigler, Lori Heberling, Chad Pulfer, Brad Pulfer, Missy Pulfer, Chuck Stevens, and Charlene Raterman; seventeen great grandchildren; a brother, Charles Schwartz, Jr. of DeGraff, Ohio and many nieces & nephews.
Phyllis was member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jackson Center and attended the St. John’s United Church of Christ in Kenton, Ohio. She had attended the Red Hats group in Findlay, Ohio and enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and word find games. She was a former member of the Pleasant Grange and in her pastime, liked to crochet and knit. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Pastors Kent Hollis and Scott Johnson will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Friday, April 11, 2014 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff. Calling hours will be held Thursday, April 10, 2014 from 4 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
The funeral arrangements were in the care of the staff of the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff.
