Phyllis Elaine Slonecker, age 77, of Troy, Ohio, passed away Monday, June 9, 2014, at Logan Acres Care Center in Bellefontaine, Ohio after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born September 30, 1936 in Bellefontaine, a daughter of the late Carl D. and Freda Anna (King) Slonecker. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bob and Max Slonecker and a sister-in-law, Mary Alice Slonecker and a niece, Shari Bellamy.
Survivors include a sister, Mary (Melvin) Yoder of Bellefontaine; a sister-in-law, Ann Slonecker of Circleville, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Michael Yoder of Huntsville, Ohio, Marcia (David) Crissman of Bellefontaine, Marie (Mark) Baughman of DeGraff, Ohio, Tracy Franck of Bellefontaine, Sheila (Joe) Stump of Circleville, Sandy (Dennis) Williams of Circleville and many great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Phyllis was a 1954 Graduate of Bellefontaine High School and attended Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. An administrative assistant, she retired from Hobart Corporation in Troy and also worked at WOHP Radio and Bulldog Electric.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy and attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine.
Pastors Dale Christian and Jeffory Willetts will officiate the funeral service at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at the Calvary Baptist Church in Bellefontaine. Calling hours will be held Friday, June 13, 2014 from 5 to 8 P.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine and one hour prior to the funeral service Saturday at the church. Interment will be at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in West Liberty, Ohio.
The staff of the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine assisted the family with the arrangements.
