Phyllis Zorn, 88, of Jackson Center, passed away Saturday morning, December 14, 2024, at The Homestead at Logan Acres in Bellefontaine.
Phyllis was born in Shelby County, Ohio on November 28, 1936, to the late Roy and Edna (Brookey) Elsass. She married Ivan Ernest Zorn on August 6, 1955, and he preceded her in death on April 24, 2020. Phyllis was also preceded in death by her brother, Doyle Elsass and brothers-in-law: Charles Spicer and Edwin Zorn.
Phyllis is survived by her sons: Stephen (Becky) Zorn of Lakeview, Mark Zorn of Illinois, Robert (Shelly) Zorn of Jackson Center, and David (Tara) Zorn of Waynesfield; 7 grandchildren: Evan (Jess) Zorn, Ethan (Cassie) Zorn, Shannon (Dan) Roberts, Meghan (Garrett) Serr, Taryn Tate, Kasen Zorn, and Tate Zorn; 8 great-grandchildren: Joey, Bryson, and Braxton Roberts, Preston, Brendan, and Spencer Serr, Paxton and Alden Zorn; sister, Marilyn Spicer; sisters-in-law: Delores Elsass and Beverly Zorn-Farst; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A homemaker, Phyllis raised four boys and helped her husband, Ivan on the farm. She was a graduate of Botkins High School, a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Jackson Center and a long-time member of the Farm Bureau. She enjoyed playing cards and attending all the kids, grandkids, and great grandkids’ activities. She was a huge Jackson Center Tigers fan and could be seen at many sporting events.
Pastor Shelly Schultz will officiate a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at Grace Lutheran Church, 607 S Main Street, Jackson Center, Ohio 45334. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church and also one hour before the service Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Glen Cemetery, Port Jefferson.
