R. Elwood “Boss” Hogue, 61, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Mary Rutan Hospital. He was born in Kenton, Ohio on February 24, 1954 to the late Richard E. Hogue and Coleen (Horner) Hogue who survives.
On January 3, 1981 he married his former wife, Nena Hogue and together they had a daughter, Kelitha Hogue, both of Bellefontaine. He is also survived by a sister, Sue (Bob) Godwin of West Liberty; a brother, Gary Hogue of Bellefontaine; several nieces and nephews; and a close personal friend, Kevin Johnson of Bellefontaine.
Boss retired in 2012 as an Assistant Superintendent for the Bellefontaine Water Department. He was a Past Exhalted Ruler of the Bellefontaine Elks, member of the Bellefontaine Moose Lodge, the Bellefontaine VFW, the Bellefontaine Eagles, and the Bellefontaine Masonic Lodge. He was a graduate of Bellefontaine High School Class of 1972. Boss enjoyed golfing and was an avid Cincinnati Bengals fan.
A funeral service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main Street, Bellefontaine. Visitation will be Friday, July 10 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Bellefontaine Cemetery.
