Rachel J. Fitzpatrick, 82, of Bellefontaine, passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at her at 10:08 a.m. at her Bellefontaine residence.
She was born in Letcher County, Kentucky on November 5, 1932, the daughter of the late William R. and Jane (Combs) Spangler. On May 28, 1960 in Bellefontaine, Ohio, she married Paul Fitzpatrick and he preceded her in death on August 1 6, 2011. She is also preceded in death by her first husband, Theodore Dinovo on October 29, 1957, nine sisters, two brothers, and two infant siblings.
She is survived by children, Robert S. (Becky) Dinovo of Titusville, Florida, Teresa Dinovo of Bellefontaine, Paul Alan Fitzpatrick of Atlanta, Georgia, and Darrin Fitzpatrick of Columbus, Ohio,; five grandchildren; Rendy (Doug) Matthews of Atlanta, Georgia, Heather (Corey) Schier and Emily (Lachlan) Butcher both of Atlanta, Georgia, Rachelle Fitzpatrick and Paul Fitzpatrick both of Cleveland, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Cate Matthews, Norah and Henry Schier, Mavis Butcher, and Jayden Fitzpatrick; one sister, Audrey Bollinger of Marysville, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rachel worked for Jamison and later Revco Drug Stores in Bellefontaine and then for American Red Cross, from which she retired.
She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and the Ladies Eagles Auxiliary of Bellefontaine. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and Sudoku. Family was very important to Rachel and she loved the time she spent caring and visiting with her family. She especially cherished the vacations she and Paul would take with her siblings.
Father Tony Dinovo will celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 14, 2015 at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Bellefontaine. Friends may call on Thursday, August 13th from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine. Inurnment will be the Columbarium at Calvary Cemetery, Bellefontaine.
