Ray Tobias Bodenmiller

Ray Tobias “Toby” Bodenmiller, age 63, of Bellefontaine, Ohio passed away at 12:21 P.M. Sunday, May 28, 2017, at his home, surrounded by his loving wife and family. He was born in Bellefontaine November 29, 1953, to the late Donald Tobias and Martha Eleanor (Williamson) Bodenmiller.

Along with his parents, Ray was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Harley Samantha and a great niece, Melissa Michelle.

On July 1, 2005, he married the former Julie Godwin and she survives. He is also survived by his daughters Toby Lin Bodenmiller and Crystal Shields, both of Bellefontaine; a son, Codey (Abby Gibson) Bodenmiller of Bellefontaine; step-children, Dan Defibaugh of Louisiana, Katie (Derick) Organ of North Lewisburg, Ohio and Lindsey Hudson of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Brendan, Zach, Alika, Ambrielle, Delaney, McKenzie, Khloe, Rylie, Remington, and Reagan; a sister, Susie Bodenmiller of Quincy, Ohio; brothers, Mike Bodenmiller of South Charleston, Ohio and Jim (Jo Ann) Bodenmiller of Springfield, Ohio and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray was a member of the DeGraff Freewill Baptist Church and was a union steward of the U.A.W. Union at Navistar.  He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and being outdoors. Ray loved fishing, hunting, being on his boat and tractor, and especially being with his kids and grandkids. He was always considered “the ornery one” and just loved to have fun.  All who loved Ray will miss him.

Pastor Bruce Keeling will officiate the funeral service at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home in DeGraff, Ohio. Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Greenwood Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
