Raymond Russell Bailey, 77, of West Liberty, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord at 9:03 A.M. Saturday, August 15, 2009, at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was born in Logan County Ohio, on July 1, 1932, a son of the late George L. and Mildred Couchman Bailey.

On October 26, 1957, he married the former Sylvania M. Jones in Vincennes, Indiana, and she survives, along with sons, Russell L. (Tamie) Bailey of High Point, North Carolina, Robert (Patty) Bailey of Bellefontaine, Ohio, and Ronald (Louise) Bailey of Kenton, Ohio; brothers, Phillip (Cathy) Bailey of Bellefontaine and Frank (Janet) Bailey of East Liberty, Ohio; sisters, Alice (Robert) Riffe of Springfield, Ohio, and Shirley (Winferd) McDonald of Mechanicsburg, Ohio; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He retired from D.A.B. in Bellefontaine after forty two years of service. After retirement, he worked at Wal-Mart for ten years. He was a member of the Gretna Brethren Church and a Navy Veteran, serving in the Korean War.

Pastor Larry Brown will conduct the funeral service at 11 A.M. Wednesday, August 19, 2009, at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. and 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Burial will follow the funeral service in the Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff, Ohio, with military honors by the Logan County Honor Guard.
