Rebecca Jane Scott Brannan Broaddus went to be with the Lord Monday, March 5, 2012 at Vancrest of Urbana in Urbana, Ohio. She was born July 4, 1921, in Springfield, Ohio, to the late Ernest and Sarah (Blane) Cheeseman. She was also preceded in death by a son, Victor Scott; brothers David Cheeseman and Luther Cheeseman; a sister, Martha Lacey; a grandson, Michael Scott, and a granddaughter, Gloria Zeobro.
She married Jason Scott in 1943 and he passed away August 24, 1972. She then married Tom Brannon in 1977 and he passed away in 1982, and then married Tom Broaddus in 1985, and he passed away in 1990.
Survivors include a son, Matthew (JoAnn) Scott of Englewood, Florida; brothers, Richard (Mary) Cheeseman of St. Paris, Ohio, James Cheeseman of Tallahassee, Florida, Timothy Cheeseman of Columbus, Ohio, and Chris (Karen) Cheeseman of Chillicothe, Ohio; grandsons, Stephen Scott of Bellefontaine, Ohio, Jason (Tammy) Scott of Kempner, Texas, Tommy (Tammy) Scott of Bellefontaine; granddaughters, April (Michael) Banister of Ft. Worth, Texas, Becky Titus of Ridgeway, Ohio, Victoria (Jordan) Kesler of Bellefontaine, Sonya Losey of Middleburg, Ohio, Kathy Scott of Kenton, Ohio and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Becky, as she was known to everyone, continued to live in Urbana until her death. She was a member of the West Mansfield Baptist Church from 1972 and was a 25 year volunteer with the American Red Cross in Urbana and West Liberty, where she earned numerous Volunteer of the Year Awards. She was always upbeat and full of life and you almost had to make an appointment to keep up with her. She brought joy and happiness to everyone who entered her life.
Pastor Eric Cook will conduct the funeral service Friday, March 9, 2012 at 10 A.M. at the Eichholtz Funeral Home in Bellefontaine, where calling hours are Thursday, March 8, 2012 from 5 to 7 P.M. and one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment will be at the Walnut Hill Cemetery in New Hampshire, Ohio.
